Horage is an independent Swiss watchmaker based in Biel/Bienne that has earned international respect by achieving true manufacturing capability. Rather than casing off-the-shelf movements, Horage designs, engineers, and manufactures its own mechanical calibers, including silicon escapements, micro-rotors, and tourbillons.

Brand Story
Horage was founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Andreas Felsl and Tzuyu Huang. After years of running an OEM watch production business, they sought to build a brand that could stand independently from Swiss movement monopolies. They embarked on the risky and expensive task of developing their own automatic movement. In 2015, they succeeded with the K1 movement, a modular caliber with a silicon escapement. This was followed by the K2 micro-rotor and the K-TOU tourbillon, establishing Horage as a highly capable independent manufacture.
Design Language
Horage’s design language is modern, industrial, and highly technical. Cases utilize clean geometric lines, brushed finishes, and sapphire crystals to showcase the mechanical movements inside. Dials are often open-worked, textured, or minimalist, focusing on showcasing their in-house movements, micro-rotors, and flying tourbillons.
Movements & Manufacturing
All Horage watches are powered by movements designed, developed, and assembled in-house at their facility in Biel, Switzerland. Key calibers include the K1 modular automatic, the K2 micro-rotor, and the K-TOU flying tourbillon. The brand is a pioneer in using silicon (silicium) for escapement wheels and hairsprings, offering high magnetic resistance and efficiency.
Notable Models
Autark (2012): The brand’s signature everyday watch, featuring a lightweight titanium case and the in-house K1 automatic movement.
Supersede (2021): A highly integrated sports GMT watch featuring the K2 micro-rotor movement, local time setting, and 200m water resistance.
Tourbillon 1 (2020): A groundbreaking flying tourbillon timepiece featuring an in-house movement, offering exceptional hand-finishing at an attainable price.
Why Enthusiasts Care
Horage is highly regarded because they have accomplished what few independent brands can: true movement independence. Developing in-house calibers, micro-rotors, and tourbillons is usually the domain of historic luxury conglomerates, but Horage offers these complications at a fraction of typical Swiss prices. Their transparency and technical innovation make them a favorite among mechanical purists.
