Brand Story
Enicar was a legendary watch brand in the mid-20th century, famous for its Sherpa models worn during Everest expeditions. When Enicar went bankrupt, their designs and the patented EPSA water-resistant compressor case went dormant. In 2019, Klocke established Sherpa Watches to recreate these compressor dive models with complete historic accuracy.
Design Language
Sherpa watches feature dual crowns (one to control the internal rotating bezel), dome crystals, and highly detailed dials. The caseback utilizes the EPSA bayonet lock system, which compresses a rubber gasket under water pressure.
Movements & Manufacturing
The movements are Swiss Sellita bases, modified in-house under the name ‘Mantago,’ featuring customized rotors, high decoration, and premium chronometer-grade regulation.
Notable Models
Ultradive is a highlight of their production line.
Why Enthusiasts Care
Unlike microbrands that use cheap standard cases, Sherpa went to the expense of re-engineering the complex EPSA compressor case technology. They are high-end, premium tool watches that pay respects to one of the most beloved vintage dive series in history.
